Bowe & Arrow

October 2, 2007 by starfantasysports

Yes, that’s a cheesy title, but there is nothing cheesy about Bowe’s production this year. Bowe scored his 3rd TD in as many weeks, as well as racking up 164 receiving yards against San Diego. Herm Edwards has stated that even when Kennison comes back, Bowe is the starting receiver and quite honestly, is Kansas City’s only receiving threat outside Tony Gonzalez. A first round pick in this years draft, Bowe has already turned himself into a fine #2 fantasy option.

Busted Cadillac

October 2, 2007 by starfantasysports

Tampa Bay got some bad news today when they found out their starting left tackle Luke Petitgout would be out for the year. Fantasy owners however, got worse news when they found out Carnell “Cadillac” Williams will also be out for the year. Hopefully you prepared yourself by already having Tampa’s backup RB on the bench, but which one do you go with? Both Michael Pittman & Earnest Graham have 30 carries a piece,  were virtually even in carries last week & have run very well this season. Pittman is listed higher on the depth chart & seems to be more involved in the passing game, so I’d go with Pittman myself. However, if you could stash both of them on your roster, I’d make sure to do so.

Crayton Worth Another Look?

October 2, 2007 by starfantasysports

When Terry Glenn went down with an injury, Patrick Crayton was the hot name to pick up at WR, but struggled mightily the first 3 weeks. It was finally disclosed he had a finger injury, and then went on to catch 2 TD’s along with 184 yards. So the question comes up again, should we be relying on Crayton? If he indeed is fully healthy, then yes you should, especially with Tony Romo at the helm. Use caution & use him as a flex option for now, but if he posts a respectable game next week against Buffalo, then it’s safe to use him as your #2 receiver.

Don’t Be Fooled By Culpepper’s Big Day

October 1, 2007 by starfantasysports

You may be looking at the weekly scoring leaders for Week 4 & notice Culpepper right at the top, but don’t be fooled. First, he was playing against the Dolphins & secondly, he was 5 for freakin’ 12 throwing with only 75 yards! He lucked into 2 passing TD’s & 3 rushing touchdowns with a hurt LaMont Jordan. Granted, the Raiders are better this year, but don’t go thinking he’s back to his old self. He gets a week off before playing San Diego & my money is on him throwing 150 yards & 1 TD.

Can Tony Romo Be Stopped?

October 1, 2007 by starfantasysports

Another game, another 300 yard performance by Tony Romo. You look at his opponents thus far, they are less than impressive, but that really doesn’t matter with loads of talent they have on offense. Want to know what’s even better? Outside of New England, and maybe Washington, there doesn’t appear to be a defense on Dallas’ schedule that can slow them down. Another bonus, they get New England at home this year. He’s clearly become the number one QB this year & I expect him to continue this trend all season. Yes, FANTASY wise, he’s better than Brady or Manning.
